Overview
Revolver was released in Australia on 29 September 1966 on Parlophone, in both mono (PMCO 7009) and stereo (PCSO 7009), with a recommended retail price of $5.25. The Australian edition contained the same fourteen tracks as the UK release.

Both original editions were pressed from UK-supplied metal parts. The mono pressing used XEX 605-2 / XEX 606-2 matrices, while the stereo edition used YEX 605-1 / YEX 606-1. These UK parts continued to provide the basis for Australian pressings for many years, before EMI (Australia) produced new local stereo cuts in October 1982 and again in November 1988.

The original Australian sleeve was a flipback design carrying both the mono and stereo catalogue numbers. From around December 1969 it was replaced by a non-flipback sleeve displaying only the stereo catalogue number, reflecting the discontinuation of the mono edition. A final sleeve variation appeared in November 1988, distinguished by a “DIGITALLY REMASTERED” notation on the rear.

During its long catalogue life, Revolver appeared across a wide range of Australian Parlophone label styles, from the original yellow/black mono and 'banner' stereo designs through orange and silver/black variations, together with New Zealand contract-manufactured pressings.
