SILVER/BLACK STYLE 'D' - EMI MUSIC GROUP - AUSTRALASIA
Used from October 1963 to November 1979 and again from April 1982 to 1990, the silver/black Parlophone label was the most common label to appear on Australian Beatles singles. It was identical to the yellow/black Parlophone EP label but with all text and logos in silver rather than yellow. Four main print variations existed, with this variation (D) available from July 1987 until EMI ceased pressing vinyl in November 1990. The variation is categorised by having perimeter text that includes the words "EMI MUSIC GROUP – AUSTRALASIA".

In July 1987, EMI (Australia) Limited and EMI (New Zealand) Limited combined to form the EMI Music Group Australasia. Vinyl and CD labels were updated to reflect the change, which occurred right in the middle of the press-run for the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band LP. The change coincided with EMI (New Zealand)'s decision to cease domestic production of vinyl records; all future vinyl issued in New Zealand by EMI was pressed at the Homebush plant.

Only one label pair per title is displayed on this page. Label variations for a given record can be found on its corresponding single page (accessible via the main 'Singles' menu, above).
