SILVER/BLACK - STYLE 'A' - ROYALTY STAMPS
Germany and Australia were the only two countries to press this coupling (indeed, ours was mastered from a copy of the German single). EMI (Australia) were hoping for big sales with this single, but perhaps unsurprisingly, it failed to impress here, with less than 2,000 copies sold (although it did reach #20 in Hobart!). As such, it was the first Beatles single deleted from the catalogue, in June 1967. Original copies are therefore very rare and expensive.
The single would not be reissued until 1982, where in June it was recut (both sides in stereo) at Studios 301 by Allan Parsons for inclusion in the Australian 20th Anniversary Singles Collection. It subsequently went out of print again before returning on 7 December 1987.
