MY BONNIE / THE SAINTS
Polydor NH24-673
Released: February 1964
Not wanting to miss out, Polydor—who owned the rights to the 'Tony Sheridan' tapes recorded in Hamburg in June 1961—'rush-released' this single to cash in on what was then known as "a Beatles-mania", the phenomenon created through the huge popularity of The Beatles' fourth local Parlophone single, 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'/'This Boy', released in December 1963 and reaching #1 Australia-wide the following week.
The single was released almost in parallel with the LP The Mersey Sound and another single 'Cry For A Shadow'/'Why'.
