GENERAL EP INFORMATION
Back in 1964 there was no way that EMI (Australia) would fork out for four-colour artwork on an EP sleeve, even for a group as big as The Beatles, thus rendering the UK cover art unsuitable. So, having failed at replicating the UK With The Beatles LP cover art for its local release (see the LP details page), they had a go at using it for this EP.

Presumably encountering the same problems that they did with the LP, they ended up with what was essentially a monotone representation of the famous Robert Freeman photo, devoid of almost all detail.

At least this time they replicated the UK liner notes in full!

Content-wise, the Australian release was identical to the UK release, albeit mastered locally from a vinyl source.

The EP remained in print until December 1978.
