Interestingly, AUEP8882YBB.a and AUEP8882YBB.b both appear to be crossover labels, with side 1 of .a being a match in layout with side 2 of .b and likewise side 1 of .b being a match with side 2 of .a

AUEP8882YBB.c shows a matched pair of side 1 .a and side 2 .b but an example with the other pairing has not yet been identified

Twist And Shout was the first Beatles EP released in Australia, some two months after it hit the streets in the UK, which at the time was the average delay for EP releases between the UK and Australia.

Mastered from a copy of the UK EP, it is essentially a clone of the UK release, notwithstanding the red-tinted Parlophone logo on the front cover and the re-typeset (and edited!) text on the back cover.

While hitting the top spot in the UK charts within one week of release, here it did not overly trouble the chart compilers until the beginning of 1964, where, thanks to the sudden popularity of the group through the hugely successful 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'/'This Boy' single released in December, the title track entered the (single) charts across the country, peaking at number 1.

The EP remained in print until December 1978.
