The Number Ones received significant promotion upon its release in May 1983. EMI (Australia) produced a somewhat elaborate promotional pack, which included: 'sample' copies of the album and EP; a four-page typed document summarising the Australian Beatles releases; four "Yeah Yeah Yeah It Was 20 Years Ago" stickers; a pin badge with the same design as the stickers; five band promo photos plus the four photos that were otherwise included with The Beatles White Album; and a card promoting "All Their Records And Cassettes In Store Now". All this was housed in a cardboard wallet. See photo immediately below.
EMI (Australia) also produced a number of promotional videos. Below, bottom of page, is a video containing three commercials (2 x 30 seconds and 1 x 60 seconds) taken from EMI's May 1983 instore promotional VHS.
