EMI GIFT.1 The Beatles Sight & Sound
Issued on 21 February 1983—ten years after the initial LP release—The Beatles Sight & Sound packaged The Essential Beatles LP (now pressed with black Parlophone labels, although some early boxes included existing Apple-labelled stock) with Barry Miles' book The Beatles In Their Own Words (London: Omnibus Press, 1978) in a nice, cardboard flip-top box, for $14.99. With increased interest at the time in all things Beatles, this box was seen as a convenient way to move copies of both titles.
