At right is a scan of PARLO 208, the cassette production master tape of Let It Be.
This single 1/4" 15ips tape on 10.5" reel was supplied by EMI UK to EMI (Australia) in January 1972 for the purposes of cassette production; the LP already being pressed from UK-supplied mothers. This is side 1 only; side 2 was on a different reel filed, perhaps oddly, as PARLO 207.
On the box you can see the UK cassette numbers CCM 27 along with TC.PCS 7096.
For our cassette production we reverted the tapes back to LP sequence, however, that apparently was done each time at the production stage.
In 1982, EMI decided to recut the LP. Studios 301 searched the library and found these tapes. Allan Parsons then set about re-sequencing the tape (again) to the correct LP running order, although this time it would stay that way! Despite this, it appears that side 1 would not be recut, with Allan only recutting side 2 (PARLO 207). The black Parlophone label, applied at that time, is the closest evidence on the box.
