The Acceptance Sheet for Hey, Jude! suggests that the Australian release originated from information provided by HMV NZ, as the comment "taken from NZ CPCS 106" was handwritten on the sheet.
The commencement date was 18 March 1970. Unfortunately, the "Passed for Press" date is ineligible.
On 27 May 1970, EMI (Australia) appears to have dubbed both sides of an LP copy to tape, filed as PARLO 195. The tape box is notated "original source (Apple Disc)". The reason for this dub is unclear, as it does not appear to have ever been used. The tape disappeared from EMI's library sometime around 1982/3.
EMI UK subsequently prepared tapes for Australia on 21 November 1972, with the earliest notated use being July 1975 (presumably for cassette release). These tapes were filed locally as PARLO 262/263.
