GENERAL EP INFORMATION
Contrary to popular belief, this "EP" was actually not sold as an EP, at least insofar as EMI UK marketing was concerned; it was, to use EMI UK's own marketing words, "an extended single" and "a pair of 45rpm discs". Indeed, the masters were catalogued in EMI's singles series and thus the two discs were pressed both in the UK and in Australia (we pressed from UK-supplied mothers) with standard silver/black single labels rather than yellow/black EP labels. But the public applied the EP moniker and it stuck, perhaps so much so that when EMI (Australia) re-pressed the stereo set in the early 1970s they used EP labels, at least on disc 1.

This is the only EP released in Australia that did not survive to 1978. Due to the complexity of the packaging, the EP was deleted from catalogue in 1969 (mono) and 1973 (stereo), with subsequent copies imported from EMI UK. Commencing late 1969, excess mono sleeves were used with a standard black & white [S STEREO] sticker applied over the mono catalogue number and, just prior to importing whole sets, evidence suggests that EMI (Australia) imported a number of UK-made sleeves.
