GENERAL EP INFORMATION
A release unique to Australia (1964+) and New Zealand (1966+). Whilst almost every Beatles fan will recognise the artwork, it is not as well known that it was designed in Australia by Philips artwork designer Ian Brown. Ian was a master of the art of drawing and engraving, and spent his early years working in the design department at Philips Records where his artwork graced the covers of numerous EP and LP releases. Australian music collectors will most likely know him for designing the artwork used on Buffalo's album covers in the 1970s.

Mastered and pressed by the Australian Record Company (ARC) for Philips Industries, this EP contained the 1963 re-recording of 'Sweet Georgia Brown', along with other selections that Polydor has pimped ad nauseum ever since.

Despite not making the (singles) charts, this EP was a steady seller, so much so that it remained available until the early 1970s. Early sleeves exhibit a red background colour, while sleeves made after mid-1966 are almost orange (mouseover or tap above image).
