GENERAL ALBUM INFORMATION
Let It Be was initially released as part of a package that included a glossy, softcover book, 'Get Back'. The LP and book were housed in, as Australian Record Collector magazine neatly summarised, "...an unwieldy collection of flimsy cardboard components comprising an inner and outer slip cover, plus a specially shaped tray designed to hold the 'Get Back' book."* With the exception of the LP (including its inner & outer sleeves) and a sticker with the publisher credits on the credit page in the book (as the books were manufactured before the credits were confirmed), the rest of the package elements were imported from the UK.

As a search on Ebay on any given day will attest, there is nothing even remotely uncommon about the availability of the Let It Be box. What is a rarity, however, is a set in pristine condition - on account of how the act of merely opening the package for the first time would very likely occasion actual bodily-harm on one or more of the aforementioned 'flimsy' card (not thick enough to warrant the label cardboard) components in the form of a rip, a tear, a dent or a crease; and, as Australian Record Collector insightfully observed, "...because the bloody thing [was] so badly designed and cumbersome to operate... many original owners lost patience with it, and, without a thought for future collectability, simply retained the LP and tossed the rest binwards!"*

All Australian-manufactured sleeves feature the red Apple icon on the back of the sleeve.
